At just 8 years old, Faith Arvin lost her father to a brain aneurysm and has had several family members also diagnosed with the devastating condition. These tragedies are what motivated Faith, now a senior at Martinsville High School, in Martinsville, IN, to host the “Breakthrough for Brain Aneurysm Awareness Walk,” held April 30 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds.
As part of her senior project, Faith organized the walk with more than 50 family members and friends participating to raise funds. She chose her father’s birthday as the day to present a check for more than $500 to The Neurosurgery Foundation at Goodman Campbell.
Nicholas Barbaro, MD, chairman of the Foundation was on hand to accept the donation that will benefit Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine’s two brain aneurysm support groups.
Support from the Neurosurgery Foundation at Goodman Campbell provides the means to achieve our mission of caring for patients in an environment of healing, teaching, and discovery.
